A Russian pilot dies suddenly in Sri Lanka

The Katunayake police say that a co-pilot of the Russian Aeroflot airline has died suddenly.

The 63-year-old co-pilot died after falling into a drain at the hotel in the Peellawatta area of Katunayake where he was staying

The cause of death is suspected to be a heart attack, and the post-mortem examination is scheduled to be held Friday at the Negombo General Hospital, the police said.

The deceased was scheduled to fly back as the co-pilot of the Aeroflot flight departing from Katunayake Airport to Moscow, Russia this afternoon.
