Whitefield-Challaghatta Metro Corridor to Be Formally Inaugurated by PM Modi Today

The Whitefield-Challaghatta Metro corridor (Purple Line) of the Bengaluru Metro will be formally opened today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual event in the presence of Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah. A 2.2 km Byappanahalli – KR Puram section and a 2.1 km Kengeri – Challaghatta sections on the Purple Line became operational on October 9.

Meanwhile, Janata Dal (Secular) national president H D Deve Gowda on Thursday dissolved the party’s Karnataka unit and sacked the JD(S) state president, C M Ibrahim, days after the latter opposed the party’s decision to align with the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Bengaluru weather update for the day: With mist during the early morning hours, the maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 30 and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
